Alongside our global campuses, we also collaborate with talented contractors and freelancers from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals.

This role is a 9-month engagement, working full-time hours per week.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Ensure designs are functional, editable, and scalable within Canva templates

  • Uphold Canva’s “one quality bar” across all print outputs

Print Production & Technical Execution

  • Conduct pre-flight checks to ensure accuracy and consistency before production

  • Manage file setup, packaging, and export requirements for different print outputs

  • Understand and apply print production methods and constraints

Systems & Scalability

  • Design templates and assets that are modular, reusable, and user-friendly

  • Contribute to print design systems and best practices

  • Ensure outputs work across multiple formats, sizes, and use cases

AI & Workflow Integration

  • Use AI tools to accelerate ideation, variation, and production workflows

  • Apply design judgement to ensure outputs meet quality and usability standards

  • Explore ways to scale content production responsibly using AI

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with design, product, and print stakeholders

  • Communicate design decisions clearly and concisely

  • Actively participate in critiques and feedback loops

  • Build strong working relationships across teams

  • Generating AI audio that ships — music, SFX, and voice — with quality, clarity, and compliance at pace.

  • Refining prompts and presets, managing evaluation sets, and aligning to style guides and guardrails.

  • Building ingest-ready workflows (naming, metadata, rights, QA, rollback) with Ingest and Templates teams.

  • Supporting discoverability through clear naming, tagging, and taxonomy design.

  • Analysing data and feedback to improve audio quality, diversity, and effectiveness.

  • Publishing reusable docs and playbooks to help others scale their workflows with confidence.

  • Escalating any safety, rights, or consent concerns to appropriate teams with context and clarity.

We’re leveling the playing field and democratizing access to design and visual communication by empowering 100% of the world to communicate in a way that was once limited to the 1%.

We've always had a deeper mission surrounding Canva — which we talk about as our 'simple' two-step plan: to build one of the world’s most valuable companies, and to do the most good we possibly can. We're committed to our core value of Being a Force for Good, so as the value of our company grows, so too does our ability to have a positive impact on the world.
