Base Salary: $95,000 - $115,000

Position Overview

This is a strong opportunity for a mid-level Water Resources Engineer to join Carollo Engineers, a nationally recognized firm dedicated exclusively to water. In this role, you will help deliver water resources, water supply planning, reuse, and integrated water management projects throughout Florida while working with some of the most experienced professionals in the water sector.

This position is ideal for a Professional Engineer with 6-12 years of water resources experience who enjoys technical analysis, planning, modeling, alternatives evaluation, and client collaboration. You will support projects involving water supply feasibility studies, integrated water supply plans, One Water programs, conservation plans, reuse studies, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, and related infrastructure planning.

Core Responsibilities

  • Help deliver water resources, water supply planning, and reuse projects throughout Florida
  • Support water resources studies, water supply feasibility studies, integrated water supply plans, One Water plans and programs, conservation plans, and water reuse studies
  • Perform calculations and analyses of water supplies and demands
  • Conduct alternatives analyses and document findings, recommendations, and supporting technical data
  • Apply hydraulic, hydrologic, or hydrogeologic modeling systems to support planning and design of related infrastructure
  • Support infrastructure planning for pipelines, open channels, pump stations, channel stabilization, rapid infiltration systems, storage facilities, treatment facilities, wellfields, and other natural or manmade systems
  • Prepare hydraulic and hydrologic calculations, technical reports, memoranda, and project documentation
  • Support planning, design, and integration of water supply and water management facilities
  • Apply water supply planning, demand management, alternatives analysis, and feasibility study methods to small and large water supply projects of moderate complexity
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, scientists, clients, and project teams
  • Participate in client communication, project meetings, and technical presentations as needed
  • Travel occasionally for project needs, client meetings, site visits, or field activities

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • Licensure: Registration as a Professional Engineer required
  • Experience: 6-12 years of experience supporting water resources projects
  • Water Resources Expertise: Experience with water supply planning, reuse, water management, demand analysis, feasibility studies, alternatives analysis, or related infrastructure planning
  • Project Evaluation: Experience with the selection and optimization of multi-benefit water supply projects
  • Technical Analysis: Ability to apply critical thinking to develop options and recommendations for technical problems
  • Communication: Strong verbal, written, presentation, and client-facing communication skills
  • Client & Team Coordination: Ability to communicate effectively with clients, project teams, engineers, designers, and scientists
  • Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Work Style: Motivated, collaborative, analytical, and comfortable working in a team-oriented consulting environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Education: Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
  • GIS & Modeling Tools: Familiarity with ArcGIS and water or sewer hydraulic modeling software
  • Modeling Software: Experience with WaterGEMS, InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM, Groundwater Vistas, or similar tools
  • Florida Water Experience: Experience supporting Florida water supply, reuse, stormwater, conservation, or water management projects
  • Planning Experience: Experience with integrated water supply planning, One Water planning, conservation planning, or long-range infrastructure planning
  • Client Experience: Experience working with water agencies, municipalities, utilities, research organizations, or private-sector clients
