The Midlevel Medical Practitioner must provide high quality health care services to patients from pediatrics to geriatrics. A special interest in providing services to children from infancy through adolescence is required. The Midlevel Practioner will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and healthcare staff to develop treatment plans, educate families and promote healthy development. Qualifications
Required Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician’s Assistant (PA) Program - Current and unrestricted Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician’s Assistant Licensure in the state of Oklahoma - Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner/Physician’s Assistant certification or equivalent - 5 or more years of nursing experience - Willing and able to walk, sit, stand, reach and bend in the assessment and treatment of patients and lift over 50 lbs. Qualifications - Knowledge of the wide range of professional mid-level medical provider role, concepts, practices, and procedures applied in order to provide therapeutic healthcare to individuals and community groups - Interest in prevention of chronic disease and chronic disease treatment. - Interest in treatment of diabetes. - Ability to work with children and families effectively - Experience in pediatric clinical settings preferred - Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations; maintains strict confidentiality of client information. - Ability to provide technical direction to nursing staff, ancillary staff and other health care providers - Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Nation - Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics - Requires a high level of problem solving skills - Must maintain confidentiality at all times - Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs - Must be proficient in EPIC. - Requires good interpersonal communication and team work skills - Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions - Preference for knowledge and competency in pediatric vaccinations and vaccination schedules. - Preference for knowledge and competency in various primary care procedures; including joint injections, skin biopsies, pap smears, incision and drainage of abscesses, and minor suturing. - Must be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association or American Red Cross and maintained throughout employment. In the event certification due for renewal, must be obtained during orientation prior to any patient interaction. - Must be certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and maintained throughout employment. If not certified, ACLS certification must be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire. - Must be certified in Pediatric Life Support (PALS) and maintained throughout employment. If not certified, PALS certification must be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire. - Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for Indian Child Welfare Act. - Must be able to pass a criminal background check - Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing - Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or Nation vehicles
