Job Description

Mid Level .Net Developer

Department: Software Development

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Trimble Offices, Morley

Description

At Vintage.com, we’re building the most trusted platform for pre-loved items. We help people give valuable things a new life, making the experience simple, transparent and rewarding.

We bring together specialist knowledge, thoughtful technology and genuine care for our customers. By helping more items stay in circulation, we create value for people and make a positive impact at the same time.

Technology is how we scale our impact. Every part of the customer journey — from discovering us online to getting paid — is powered by the systems we design, the products we build and the data we unlock.

Our Technology team brings Engineering, Product, Design and Operations together to build modern, scalable platforms for re-commerce. We collaborate closely while trusting people to take ownership and make good decisions. Priorities can shift quickly, so curiosity, adaptability and clear communication matter as much as technical craft.

As Mid-Level .NET Developer, you’ll design, build and maintain web applications and back-end services using C# and the .NET ecosystem, with a focus on modern, scalable solutions.

Your work will support our customer-facing websites, internal applications and third-party integrations. You’ll use .NET 9.0 and Blazor to create dependable experiences that meet both user expectations and business needs.

You’ll work closely with Product, QA and colleagues across the business, taking ownership of modules and features from early requirements through to production. You’ll also contribute to greenfield builds, share knowledge through pair coding and help junior developers grow.

This is a UK-based remote role, reporting to the Lead .NET Developer, with the option to work from our Leeds office. It may involve occasional Leeds office attendance, travel to European and other international locations as we grow, and out-of-hours support when needed.

  • Build a strong understanding of our systems, architecture and product portfolio, becoming a trusted and effective contributor.
  • Deliver valuable features and bug fixes within reasonable timeframes using .NET 9.0, Blazor and modern engineering practices.
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code that moves through review with minimal rework.
  • Take ownership of modules and features from requirements and design through deployment, monitoring and production support.
  • Work effectively with Product, QA and wider stakeholders to refine requirements, estimate work and flag risks or blockers early.
  • Improve existing systems and development practices through modern tooling, cloud technologies, automation and focused experiments.

What You’ll Do

Development and product delivery

  • Develop and maintain C# and .NET APIs, web applications and back-end services.
  • Build and maintain customer-facing experiences using Blazor or similar front-end technologies.
  • Deliver internal applications and dependable integrations with third-party APIs and services.
  • Work confidently with relational databases, using Entity Framework and well-designed queries to support reliable, efficient applications.

Quality and engineering practice

  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests using xUnit or similar frameworks.
  • Take part in code reviews, giving constructive feedback and responding openly to feedback from others.
  • Debug and troubleshoot across the stack, using appropriate caching strategies and performance improvements where they add value.
  • Follow established patterns, standards and best practices; document solutions and share useful knowledge with the team.

Collaboration and delivery

  • Partner with Product and business stakeholders to understand needs and turn them into clear, practical technical solutions.
  • Estimate work thoughtfully and raise risks, dependencies or blockers early.
  • Support QA with test planning, defect investigation and timely bug resolution.
  • Work across Engineering, Product, QA and Operations to deliver features that meet user expectations and business needs.

Ownership, support and growth

  • Own features through deployment and investigate production issues in the areas you know, helping restore service and prevent recurrence.
  • Lead and contribute to technical discussions, pair-coding sessions and knowledge sharing, while supporting and mentoring junior team members.
  • Stay curious about emerging technologies, proposing and trialling tools or approaches that could simplify complexity and improve how we work.

What You’ll Bring

  • Three to five years’ hands-on experience developing modern applications with C# and .NET.
  • Working knowledge of .NET 9.0 and Blazor, with experience applying them to real products or services.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain robust RESTful APIs.
  • Strong experience with relational databases, including Entity Framework, query writing and optimisation.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions.
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests with xUnit or similar frameworks such as NUnit or MSTest.
  • An understanding of caching strategies and when to use them to improve application performance.
  • Clear communication and effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well with Product, QA and wider stakeholders.
  • Confidence with the day-to-day tools and practices needed to work effectively in a modern technology team.
  • Exposure to Azure cloud services, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Experience with .NET Aspire.
  • Adaptability and the ability to switch context effectively when priorities change.

No specific qualifications are required. We care about the work you’ve done, the judgement you bring and how you keep learning.

In this role, living our values means:

  • Keep customer and business outcomes at the heart of the software you build.
  • Take ownership of your work from the first conversation through to reliable operation in production.
  • Care about clean code, thoughtful testing and dependable systems, and act quickly when something needs attention.
  • Work openly with others, share context and feedback, and help junior colleagues build confidence and capability.
  • Stay curious and adaptable, challenging assumptions constructively and exploring better ways to solve problems.
