The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Mid-Level Facilities Plant Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Eglin AFB, FL

The selected candidate will be responsible for performing a wide variety of support tasks to aid on-site engineering teams perform systems development and test activities.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include assisting the Facility Project Administrator with the performance of facilities maintenance and operational functions for a hangar which hosts aircraft, engineering electronics labs, and engineering offices.

  • Ordering, organizing, distributing and maintaining Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for site employees

  • Organizing and maintaining PPE, tool, and company fleet vehicle sign in/out sheets

  • Responsible for setting up, moving, and removing “Safety Zone” and Restricted Zone” barriers and signage when needed

  • Responsible for issuing, weighing, and check-in of Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT). Includes keeping Safety Data Sheets current

  • Submitting trouble tickets and coordinating 3rd party repair actions of Government-maintained facilities and equipment

  • Maintaining the Hangar Bays to keep free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD), trip hazards, and slip hazards

  • Managing the site Tool Accountability Program, including the inspection, labeling, and inventory of all tools

  • Managing site fleet vehicle pool by performing regular inspections, refueling, interior cleaning, exterior washing/detailing, and coordinating major repairs when needed

  • Ordering all supplies requested by the Facility Project Administrator and maintaining the supply log

  • Updating all facility manuals on an as-needed basis

  • Completing the necessary research for new equipment purchases when required

  • Assisting with recurring facility inspections as required for equipment maintenance and safety program compliance

  • Periodic destruction of sensitive documents using standard in-office and industrial shredder machines

  • Updating signage throughout the facility as needed

  • Changing light bulbs and ceiling tiles as needed

  • Performing periodic Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems inspections, filter replacements, and belt replacements

  • Assisting the site Property Control/Material Management Organization (MMO) with area safety control and safety spotting during forklift operations

  • Driving/operating a forklift to load/offload equipment from delivery trucks when needed

Maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the Hangar Bay floors and office areas:

  • Vacuum offices areas bi-weekly

  • Sweep hangar floors, lab floors, interior walkways/stairs/catwalks, and clean floor mats weekly

  • Mop hangar walkways and lab floors monthly

  • Operate floor scrubber machine to clean hangar bay floors monthly, or as-needed when aircraft are present

  • Replenish restroom soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and toilet paper as needed

  • Empty office and lab area trash cans weekly

  • Empty office and hangar bay recycle bins and shredder bags as needed

  • Sanitize work areas and high-contact areas as needed, in compliance with 29 CFR 1919.1030

  • Requires maintaining Bloodborne Pathogens Training/Certification

Basic Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

  • Experience in facilities maintenance

  • Experience operating a forklift

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

  • Experience maintaining Bloodborne Pathogens Training/Certification

  • Experience with administering Hazmat Program

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Pay Range: $52,700 - 71,300
