We’re looking for a Software Engineer who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, take ownership, and build with us, through the grind and the wins.

About the Role

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our Business Operations team. The team is responsible for the Hub and the back-office tools that operators use to run their charging business on Monta. This is a hands-on individual contributor role where you'll own delivery of meaningful pieces of our operator tooling and grow your expertise in the domain.

Business Operations sits at the center of how operators actually run their business on Monta - team structures, access, sites, and the day-to-day tools that hold it all together. As we onboard more operators across Europe, the platform needs to keep up: more use cases, more scale, more complexity to manage cleanly.

We need someone who isn’t afraid to take ownership of what they build. You'll own medium-sized projects from design through to production, working independently within your team and delivering quality outcomes.

We are looking for someone who embraces AI as a core part of how they work. We expect you to be a confident AI user who actively finds new ways to leverage tools like Claude Code, Copilot, and Notion AI to move faster and think better.

What You’ll Do

• Own outcomes in a high-trust environment where we value execution over perfection - building and maintaining core parts of the Hub, our operators' back-office.
• Navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities - keeping momentum as new business needs come up across the platform.
• Celebrate wins and learn fast from misses alongside our ambitious team located in Berlin and Copenhagen.
• Push boundaries with courage and resilience while staying true to our DNA.

What We’re Looking For

• Clear & pragmatic communicator who builds alignment fast.
• Resilient, curious, and hands-on in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Authentic team player with empathy, openness, and ownership.
• Comfortable with AI-powered tools to accelerate your work (Copilot, Notion AI, Claude, etc.), and with the willingness to learn more.
• A few years of professional engineering experience and the confidence to own features end-to-end in a production system.
• It’s a bonus if you are already familiar with technologies like Kotlin, PHP, typescript, and MySQL, but not a hard requirement.

AI Competency

You’ll be expected to work with AI-powered tools. Some we use:

• GitHub Copilot / Claude Code
• ChatGPT / Gemini / Claude
• Notion AI (docs, knowledge, meeting notes)
• Analytics & ML: Langfuse, PyTorch, Mastra
• AI-enhanced testing & monitoring (e.g., generative QA, Grafana ML)

We don’t expect mastery of all, but we expect comfort learning, experimenting, and adopting AI responsibly.
