The Role

The ideal candidate will install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across Dev, Test, and Prod environments, managing database objects, schemas, and configurations while performing upgrades, migrations, and patching activities. You will monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, optimize queries and indexes, perform capacity planning, resource optimization, and ensure the high performance and stability of databases in production environments. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining backup and recovery strategies, implementing HA/DR solutions like Always On, clustering, replication, and log shipping, performing disaster recovery testing, and ensuring data integrity. Additionally, you will troubleshoot complex database issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), support production incidents to ensure SLA compliance, provide 24×7 support, and participate in on-call rotations. This role requires implementing database security policies, roles, access controls, encryption, auditing, and compliance with security standards. Finally, you will work closely with developers, infrastructure, and application support teams, support deployments, release management, and application performance tuning, provide technical guidance to junior DBAs, maintain database documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams, and define and enforce database standards and best practices for this Microsoft SQL Server Administrator role.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7-10+ years of experience in SQL Server DBA roles (enterprise systems).

• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022).

• Proficiency in T-SQL, indexing, query optimisation, Backup & recovery models, HA/DR technologies (Always On, clustering, replication).

• Experience with SSIS and SSRS.

• Performance tuning and diagnostics.

• Windows Server environment.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to work in 24×7 production support environment.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Master Degree & any relevant certification.
