Microfluidics, Technology and Development (MTD) is seeking a Strategic Planner and Programs Manger reporting to the Vice President of MTD Development. In this role you will work side by side with the leader, direct staff, and partner organizations to drive strategic initiatives, alignment, effectiveness, operational efficiency, and coordination of activities across MTD, as well as provide program management for strategic initiatives.
This role is right for you if you can lead in ambiguous environments that require creative thinking especially in complex situations. The ideal candidate will be organized and detail-oriented, with a growth mindset, a self-starter with strong communication skills, strong influencing skills, knowledge of financial systems and R&D technology development, product development processes and program delivery experience.

This is also a person who seeks career development and visibility at senior leadership levels. The role will draw upon technical & business acumen & grow talent in areas of executive communication, program management, strategic thinking & planning, and operational excellence (budget, visible management dashboards etc.), This is a highly dynamic role with daily interactions and influence with the MTD, MTI and TIO and Print-wide leadership and staff.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Operate as the MTD Strategic Planner and Program Manger. Define, drive, and improve processes around recurring initiatives that define our “business rhythm”: staff meetings, leadership meetings, off-sites, strategic planning, workforce planning, team budgeting, objectives & key results tracking among many others
Lead long term business planning (LTP) for MTD, Business Finance and Long Range Forecast Planning, MTD business reviews, MTD communications, and employee engagement initiatives.
Lead strategic projects and initiatives with program management skills required to collaborate across teams, align sponsors, and execute to deliver for today and strategically transform and disrupt for the future
Ensure accountability across all teams by making sure appropriate milestones and measurements are built into project and initiative plans
Manage executive communications; analyze, coordinate, and improve organization communications both internal to the team and broadly across MTI.
Develop and leverage a strong network with MTI and Print Strategic Planning and Operations Community, Finance, HR, Print BU’s, and other teams to create integrated plans and proactively identify opportunities for increased collaboration across MTD, ISDO and Print GBUs.
Lead efforts to manage and resolve conflict including exercising sound judgment to establish appropriate escalation paths when needed
Partner with MTI strategic business planner and finance, driving Zero Based Budgeting, Long Term Planning Process and annual budget management for MTI delivery
Partner with HR and the management team to drive organizational development, culture and continuous improvement including employee engagement, manager training, recognition, and new employee onboarding processes among others
Work closely with leaders and cross-functional partners across MTI and PRINT and ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
Leads and provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced program managers to set an example of program management innovation and excellence.

Education & Experience Required
Typically, 10+ years of relevant experience ideally in high technology product-oriented business.
University degree (technical or business) or demonstrable equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
Strong business acumen, business model knowledge, effective problem resolution, team building and rigorous approach to efficient decision-making
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, executive presentations, indirect influence, and ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly
Understanding of business fundamentals and operational rhythm of business & technology development execution
Exercises a high degree of maturity, discretion, and integrity broadly but also in handling of sensitive and confidential information
Ability to quickly understand, shape, and respond to complex and often urgent business issues spanning the organization
Ability to cultivate effective relationships based on mutual respect and trust to enable highly effective collaboration across organization boundaries with a partnering or consultative approach
Strong program management skills: ability to lead high profile projects, effectively leveraging available resources to drive results in highly complex situations that are often ambiguous and involve multiple stakeholders
Preference for previous R&D program management or management experience
Superior quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, analysis, and problem-solving skills
SmartSheets, ThinkCell, Excel Pivot Tables, PowerPoint, Executive Slide Creation, Executive Communications
The pay range for this role is$147,050to$230,850USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
