Job Summary

Responsible for the conduct of microbiological testing and analyses of packaging, environment, raw materials, water, equipment sanitation, processes and products to ensure conformance to standards and specifications.

Job Responsibilities

1. Conducts routine microbiological sampling and analyses of packaging, environment (air), raw materials, water processes, equipment sanitation and finished products in accordance to frequency requirements and specifications.
2. Conducts the following microbiological standard operating procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results:

• Cleaning and preparation of instruments
• Autoclaving
• Sterile petri dishes
• Preparation and dispensing media for membrane filtration
• Sanitary sampling
• Membrane and/or pour plate culturing
• Plate identification and transferring to incubator
• Proper incubation temperature and period
• Reading and recording of results

1. Monitors cleaning/sanitation procedures, schedules against microbiological results.
2. Provides timely and reliable feedback of abnormalities detected in the monitoring system by issuing non-conformance report (NCR) and recommends solutions to micro related problems encountered in the plant.
3. Conducts filth identification thru microscopic examination as need arises.
4. Implements preventive maintenance of microbiological laboratory instruments through regular check-up and calibration to ensure continuous availability, as well as confidence in the analytical results.
5. Contacts supplier related to microbiological analysis and equipment calibration.
6. Conducts regular inventory of materials used in microbiological analysis. Prepares PR request when necessary
7. Maintains and keep accurate microbiological test results.
8. Conducts regular quality review of conformance of microbiological analyses results specifications by collating the data gathered and other related information. Summarize results by using statistical tools for management review.
9. Conducts special studies that maybe assigned by the superior and assists in trials for new products and/or other developing methods for improving the quality of the product.
10. Documents microbiological methodologies, procedures and work instructions when needed.
11. Attends meeting with superiors, management and other department if there are issues related to micro.
12. Practices proper conduct and discretion in handling of confidential information.
13. Follows/observes company rules and regulations concerning.

1. Participates in proficiency testing related to micro analysis.
2. Performs or attends to other job related matters that may be assigned by QC Supervisor and the QC Manager.
3. Participates in all activities in achieving goals and quality programs regarding Quality Foods Safety, Environment Health & Safety standards, ISO and Plant requirements.
4. Operate under HSE regulations with awareness according to standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instruction (WI) company usage personal protective equipment (PPE) according to the company. It is used in various areas and practice and cooperate in achieving the QHSE metrics and goals of the department or related department to support the QHSE policy. Attend training and emergency practice as schedule is set by the company, ready for internal and external monitoring of QHSE in conjunction with the supervisor to assess the risks and environmental aspect impacts.

Skills and Experiance

• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Biology/Chemistry
• At least 1 years’ experience in an analytical and microbiological laboratory analysis
• Good command of spoken and written English will be an advantage and computer literate.
• With moral character and good attitude.
