Material Handling Operative

We are seeking a Material Handling Operative to join our Bulk Operations team and help keep the world moving!

Your Role

You will operate the company’s plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, supporting the handling of bulk products across the terminal, ensuring activities are completed safely, accurately and on time. You will inspect company plant and equipment for damage, reporting any incidents, accidents or dangerous occurrences without delay, ensuring all machinery and working areas are kept clean and in line with agreed standards.

You will proactively focus on operating a safe working environment, identifying any hazards and taking action to remedy these immediately within agreed guidelines. Working in a physically demanding environment, you will predominantly be based in one area but may be required to use your skills across other Terminals dependent upon business needs.

What you'll bring

You will have previous experience working within an industrial general cargo/bulk handling, logistics or warehouse environment, alongside:

• Experience of driving loading shovels, skid steers, 360 excavators being essential.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working as part of a team, along with the ability to multi-task and prioritise your workload effectively and be adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to maintaining Health and Safety standards, as well as demonstrating compliance to safety policies and procedures is key.

A full valid driving licence is also essential for this role.
