Marshall Health Network is seeking an experienced Oncology Business Analyst to support the technology systems that power oncology services across our organization. This role partners closely with clinical leaders, operational teams, and IT professionals to analyze business needs, implement system solutions, and improve the performance of healthcare applications supporting oncology care.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in health information systems, electronic health records (EHR), and healthcare operations, along with the ability to translate complex clinical and operational workflows into effective technology solutions.
This position plays a key role in strategic projects, system implementations, reporting development, and ongoing application support for oncology services.
Partner with oncology leadership and operational teams to analyze business and system requirements.
Translate operational needs into functional system designs and technology solutions
Support the implementation, configuration, testing, and optimization of healthcare applications.
Develop system documentation, workflows, and technical support materials.
Create and execute testing plans and scenarios for new system functionality.
Monitor system performance and assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Support development of data reporting, analytics, and database queries
Collaborate with leadership to design and implement database applications and reporting tools.
Lead or support strategic information systems initiatives and improvement projects
Maintain vendor and system information for supported applications.
Assist in developing policies and procedures to ensure regulatory and organizational compliance.
Provide technical support and guidance to system users and operational departments.
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and system information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or related field
OR
Coursework leading to Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification from the American Health Information Management Association
Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare information systems, business systems analysis, or related field.
Experience planning, designing, and implementing health information system applications
Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
Knowledge of inpatient and outpatient clinical documentation workflows
Experience supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience developing reports, queries, and data extraction tools
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate with physicians, clinicians, administrators, and IT teams
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare data privacy standards
Experience supporting healthcare system end-users and departments
This role requires the ability to perform computer-based work, including extended periods of keyboarding and data analysis. The position may involve light physical activity such as moving equipment under 20 pounds and traveling between work areas as needed. Occasional off-hours work may be required to support system implementations or upgrades.
