The Hershey Company Robinson plant is a Non-Union plant producing products such as Heath, Payday, Whoopers, Mild Duds, Reese’s Pieces, Mounds, and Almond Joy in a high-speed complex environment.

This position is responsible for managing a superior safe, quality, efficient and cost-effective operation through proficiently leading and directing Production Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisors and hourly maintenance and production employees to ensure compliance with established company rules, plant policies and procedures on a specific shift. Also responsible for meeting set production schedules with minimum downtime and production loss, Sanitation, CIP, logistics and responsible for the overall plant assets on that shift.

Responsibilities:

· Provide a highly visible and accessible presence throughout the Plant on assigned shift. Be the point of contact for employees who do not have a salaried supervisor on shift including sanitation, general labor and 12-hour support.

· Seek opportunities to talk to all employees about the Plant mission, goals, and expectations. Promote empowerment and individual accountability. Teach problem solving, interaction management and situational leadership when problems arise. Stress the value of incident reporting, developing, and implementing corrective action, weekly/daily planning, and time management. Communicate management’s position or concerns on Plant or Company issues. Keep management informed regarding acceptance or understanding.

· Provide leadership and participate during problem solving across the entire plant for their specific shift. Implement recommendations / solutions. These initiatives can involve people, product, or equipment issues. This includes being the crisis lead for the shift - guiding anyone who needs assistance with Safety Reporting/ Quality Incident Management, sensitive discipline issues like suspensions, and post-accident drug testing.

· Meet plant MIP goals through proficient leadership and methods which include safety and quality initiatives, capital expenditures, cost saving programs, and productivity improvements.

· Coach, direct, train and develop the supervisors for their specific shift while supporting the manufacturing mission.

· Establish and plan for all training – with a specific focus on new hires - that will ensure all members of the department are aligned with company, plant, and department objectives. Lead and maintain the team as a world class organization.

· Be available to assist labor scheduling for off shifts during high call off events, assisting with priorities, or an everyday responsibility. This would provide a second opinion when shutting training or other non-production jobs down.

· Coordinate, organize and deliver communication activities, regarding objectives, results and plans within the department and all other plant functions to assure total seamless operation. Make necessary judgment calls on specific goal alignment to achieve manufacturing excellence.

· Establish, monitor, and control the proper implementation and administration of all plant and department procedures on their shift.

· Ensure that all aspects of SAP are properly implemented and utilized. Analyze data, lead initiatives to change direction based on outcomes. Responsible for execution of projects plant wide.

· Provide vision and leadership to champion initiatives, drive, and implement change to optimize the business focusing on safety, quality, and costs.

· Responsible for determining appropriate delegation of assignments, following up and taking ownership of the delegated assignments.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

· Strong change management skills, driving and implementing change to optimize the business focusing on safety, quality, and cost

· Excellent people and leadership skills

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Knowledge of production systems

· Managerial ability (communication skills, delegation, motivation, etc.)

· Problem solving and decision-making abilities

· Knowledge of product quality standards and regulatory requirements

· Ability to work with and relate to all levels of personnel

· Ability to read/interpret production performance reports

· Experience in manufacturing supervision

· Cost accounting background (general understanding)

· General engineering understanding

· SAP experience is preferred

· Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or in a high-speed, complex environment required

· Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory capacity preferred
