RegularSupports the organization's mission by overseeing the operations and strategic alignment of flexible clinician pool to meet dynamic patient care needs across multiple facilities. This role ensures efficient deployment of clinical resource pool, maintains high standards of clinical care, and aligns staffing with organizational goals for quality, safety, and financial stewardship. Collaborates with regional leadership, nursing teams, and workforce operations to optimize scheduling, enhance employee engagement, and support operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the daily operations of the resource pool program, ensuring effective staffing coverage across clinical, acute care, and specialty units within a designated region.
  • Oversees scheduling and deployment of resource pool team in collaboration with workforce operations, ensuring alignment with patient care demands, labor benchmarks, and operational goals.
  • Ensures resource pool staff maintain high standards of clinical practice, adhering to regulatory, licensure, and organizational standards for patient safety and quality care.
  • Partners with regional and ministry leaders, workforce operations, and department managers to align resource pool staffing with enterprise wide labor strategies and financial objectives.
  • Fosters a culture of engagement and professional development for resource pool RNs and other clinicians, supporting retention through flexible scheduling, training, and recognition programs.
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) related to resource pool utilization, productivity, and patient outcomes, addressing gaps through actionable improvement plans.
  • Develops and implements training programs to ensure resource pool clinicians are equipped to work across diverse clinical settings, maintaining competency and adaptability.
  • Generates and distributes reports on float pool performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement to support regional leadership decision-making.
  • Recruits, engages, develops, leads, and manages assigned staff.
  • Travels regularly and unexpectedly to different ministries across the designated region to provide on-site leadership, support, and oversight to the team of floating staff.
  • Applies the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient’s age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department's scope of service.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing


EXPERIENCE

  • Two years' registered nurse experience, with demonstrated progressive leadership responsibility OR one year of registered nurse experience plus one year of leadership experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
