4+ years of experience: $92,000 – $122,700

6+ years of experience: $107,000 – $135,000

BNSF’s Marketing team serves as a primary contact for all BNSF customers, working to make the shipping experience as easy and seamless as possible. From onboarding new customers to handling rate and service requests to answering billing questions, the Marketing team is focused on building strong customer relationships and ensuring effective communication throughout the shipping process. The team is organized into several critical business units to cater to diverse customer needs and industry demands: Agriculture and Energy, Consumer Products, and Industrial products, alongside specialized units for Customer Support, Forecasting, and Planning. Each of these units plays a role in tailoring our marketing strategies and services to meet the unique requirements of our wide-ranging customer base, ensuring a comprehensive and responsive approach to customer service and engagement.

This is a full-time positionin Fort Worth, TX. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.

Key responsibilities may include:

Advocate for BNSF’s country grain and agriculture customers and drive impactful results

Lead and facilitate incremental growth and strategic development of BNSF’s agriculture franchise

Monitor and interpret agricultural and transportation trends, events, and market conditions, sharing insights internally and externally

Build and maintain strong relationships with key agricultural customers, industry leaders, and influencers to deepen understanding of the ag sector and BNSF’s role in it

Serve as the BNSF point of contact with state and local government officials, connecting them with BNSF’s senior management as needed

Act as a liaison to various state and national industry associations, representing BNSF’s agricultural interests and fostering collaboration on shared priorities

Partner effectively with Operating and support teams to align service capabilities with customer needs

Identify issues and opportunities and lead process improvements to enhance the consistency and reliability of BNSF’s service offering

Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Able to work now and in the future without BNSF’s assistance (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) in obtaining, maintaining, or extending employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Sales, Transportation, Marketing, Operations and/or Logistics Management
  • Must be able to work effectively, efficiently and proactively in an independent environment
  • Curiosity, desire to learn and listen, positivity, development and a sense of urgency are strengths
  • Agricultural production, trading and business, rail and communications experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required as well as effective oral and written communications skills.
  • Travel required and varies depending on time of year, but averages 20-30%.
  • Must have proficiency in PC-based electronic mail, word-processing, spreadsheet, database and graphic software skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agricultural production, trading and business, rail and communications experience
  • Experience in BNSF's Marketing, Operations, Service Design or Customer Support areas
  • Knowledge of commodity markets, interchange, short-line and unit train operations, rail pricing and service offerings, and rail competition
  • Location in the sourthern tier of BNSF's system
