Job Scope

Core responsibility of the Job holder is the Supplier parts approval/qualification process. Start from supplier Technical & Feasibility review to Supplier parts Approval package following by the Supplier Safe Launch process. The ASQ ensures the supplier PPAP to be successful. Holds main interface / key contact with the supplier base during pre-serial stages.

Tasks Summary & Responsibilities ( please enclose organizational charts)

  • Leading the global ASQ team to build the flawless supplier NPI process.
  • Working with X-function team to drive the supplier 0 defect strategy with balanced time schedule.
  • Set up NPI metrics to measure the supplier quality capability and get continuous improvement.
  • Build a high competency global ASQ team to fit with NPI and business needs.
  • Leading the critical issue handling in the NPI stage and creating the lesson learn library.
  • Owner of the parts qualification/Approval process(APQP,PPAP) with suppliers in E1 phase, included in migration projects.
  • If desired might participate on New Supplier Assessments
  • Responsible for Reversed FMEA (R-FMEA) execution at Supplier as applicable.
  • Supports other region’s parts approval aactivities when geographically convenient.

Job Requirements

Educational Degree

B.S. degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or related field

Professional Experience (years in what processes and function)

Requirements:

  • 10 years’ experience in the supplier APQP process ,Automotive Industry is a plus.
  • 5-8 years management experiences in the reginal or global roles
  • Knowledge on ISO 9001, IATF 16949 preferred.

Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated skills in a matrix environment
  • Working Knowledge on specific product and process as required (e.g., Molding, Stamping, PAB/PCBA, diecasting…)
  • Be familiar with the tools related to supplier APQP process, including but not limited to APQP, PPAP, FMEA, CP, MSA, SPC, R@R and 8D’s.
  • Ability to work across cultures and countries effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge of Problem-Solving tools
  • Process Auditor Skills is a plus
  • SAP basic knowledge
  • Knowledge in GD&T and Advance knowledge reading technical drawings and specifications
  • Presentation skills
  • Communication skills
  • Coaching skills

Job requires regular travels

English fluent in written and verbal

Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with 12 or more years of experience; or Masters degree with 10 or more years of experience; or PhD level with 6 or more years of experience; or local equivalent.
