Position Summary:

Act as a liaison to stores, merchandising and the Bakery/Deli manufacturing group. Provide technical and training support to ensure execution of consistent quality standards and achieve mutual sales and profit goals. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Demonstrate the companys core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.


    Essential Job Functions:
    • Execute a structured Bakery/Deli training program for appropriate associates, including the implementation of bakery production sheets, maintenance of sanitation standards, equipment troubleshooting, food safety certification and label compliance and programming
    • Act as the first line of communication on all product quality issues from store to plant and to sales training manager
    • Communicate sales plans to the stores
    • Attend and present sales and training plans at zone meetings
    • Prepare write-ups for in-store execution of sales plan
    • Communicate write-ups/training techniques to Bakery/Deli marketing and training manager
    • Channel new product/concept ideas from stores to Bakery Deli sales and training manager
    • Achieve division and manufacturing sales and profit goals for determined number of stores, including store top line gross and bottom line contribution, manufacturing net profile/EBITDA, store shrink, store scheduling, plan-o-gram implementation and the execution of sales plans and merchandising programs
    • Present new manufactured items to the division team
    • Prepare and present products at divisions, food shows and merchandising meetings
    • Complete and communicate competitive price and product checks
    • Travel to stores for training, as well as food shows, merchandising meetings and zone meetings to develop project solutions
    • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements
    • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems
    • Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles
    • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

    Desired Previous Job Experience/Education:
    • Bachelors degree in sales, marketing or related field
    • Experience in ownership or operation of a retail bakery
    Minimum Position Qualifications:
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent
    • Experience as an in-store Deli/Bakery clerk, department manager or as a product representative to in-store Deli/Bakery, reporting to manufacturer and Deli/Bakery Merchandising
    • Strong analytical ability
    • Strong communication skills
