Job Description

Coordinates production operations across multiple areas under indirect supervision. Responsible for meeting established standards for output, quality, scrap, process times, and delivery performance. Ensures operational continuity, workforce discipline, proper use of equipment, and the implementation of strategies to achieve productivity and compliance goals.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Area Administration:

  • Enforces internal policies and the company’s Work Rules.
  • Manages disciplinary actions when applicable (from verbal warnings to suspensions).
  • Oversees permits, vacation schedules, and personnel movements.
  • Reports workforce changes and overtime hours using internal formats and systems.
  • Leads daily meetings with line supervisors.
  • Maintains constant communication with area leaders and reports relevant situations to the immediate manager.
  • Supports the maintenance and improvement of +QDIP boards.
  • Coordinates support with Maintenance and Engineering to ensure operational continuity.

Process Control:

  • Plans the production floor based on orders released by Production Control.
  • Reviews and adjusts headcount according to monthly volume requirements.
  • Ensures timely order completion and compliance with FIFO across production lines.
  • Identifies delayed/problematic orders and follows up to ensure resolution and shipment.
  • Ensures supervisors and operators properly use digital systems to track FIFO in production lines.

Planning:

  • Plans the production floor based on orders released by Production Control.
  • Reviews and adjusts headcount according to monthly volume requirements.
  • Ensures timely order completion and compliance with FIFO across production lines.
  • Identifies delayed/problematic orders and follows up to ensure resolution and shipment.
  • Ensures supervisors and operators properly use digital systems to track FIFO in production lines.

Safety, Organization, and Cleanliness:

  • Ensures proper use of PPE and compliance with safety standards.
  • Verifies area boundaries and maintains overall housekeeping, especially around machinery.
  • Keeps chemical hazard diamonds updated.
  • Promotes and drives a culture of organization and cleanliness within the team and work areas.

Machinery Maintenance and Operation:

  • Ensures preventive maintenance and cleaning for machinery and equipment.
  • Verifies that equipment is operated only by trained personnel.
  • Ensures tools and machines operate under optimal conditions.
  • Reports unsafe conditions to the EHS department and the Manufacturing Manager.
  • Manages preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.

Training and Development:

  • Coordinates technical, administrative, and soft‑skills training with Human Resources.
  • Creates development plans to promote internal career growth.
  • Drives team engagement through respect, empathy, flexibility, and ongoing coaching to achieve goals.
  • Keeps the training folder up to date.
  • Trains personnel on MSDS requirements.
  • Maintains an updated cross‑training matrix.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 years of previous experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of process improvement.
  • Experience in the medical device industry.
  • Preferably trained in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
  • English proficiency at 90%.
  • Strong service orientation and full availability.
  • No special physical requirements.
  • Flexibility to rotate across shifts for periods of 2–3 months.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading multiple production areas.
  • Prior experience with documentation systems such as ICMs.
  • Knowledge of scrap control and production metrics.
