Metrology Technician II- Onsite; Lenexa, KS- Full Time

As a Metrology Technician II, your valued experience in monitoring and calibrating laboratory equipment, will enable Scientists and other stakeholders to continue groundbreaking research for pre-clinical trials and improved health outcomes.

This is a full-time opportunity dedicated to ICON’s Bioanalytical Laboratory Services in Lenexa, Kansas (KS).

What You’ll Be Doing

The Metrology Technician II is responsible for regularly scheduled calibration and maintenance of all laboratory equipment in accordance with SOPs, documentation of the work in logs and notebooks, updating equipment lists, and reporting on these activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, calibrate, and maintain assigned laboratory equipment (e.g. freezers, refrigerators, pipettes, balances, plate washers, water system, thermometers, weights, ovens, temperature and humidity monitors, REES Environmental system).
  • Acts as an escort for approved vendors performing required external calibrations.
  • Maintains and executes the calibration schedule and equipment lists as work is performed.
  • Reviews calibration notebooks per applicable SOPs/procedures.
  • Participate in client or regulatory audits with the Quality Assurance department, when required.
  • Provide metrology-related documentation during clients or regulatory audits.
  • Occasional on-call for REES Environmental system.

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of laboratory experience.
  • 1-2 years of systems validation and/or calibration experience.
  • Associates Degree or higher.
  • Experience with freezers, balances, and other similar lab experience highly preferred
  • Have the ability and desire to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sense of urgency in performance of duties.
  • Interpersonal skills that promote a collaborative and productive lab environment.
