Apply to be selected for the second annual MetOx International Futures Invitational, a one-of-a-kind opportunity to showcase your research, interview for full-time opportunities at MetOx International, and explore how advanced science and engineering are shaping the future of superconductivity.
At MetOx International, we're pioneering the next era of energy security and abundance through breakthrough superconducting technology. We are a Houston-based startup transforming the future of energy and computing through advanced high-temperature superconducting (HTS) wire.
We are scaling production of next-generation superconducting wire using metal-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD), physical vapor deposition (PVD), and electrochemistry. Our work spans the frontiers of materials science, plasma physics, thin-film engineering, equipment engineering, process automation, controls, and data science, all grounded in deep first-principles thinking.
We're not just building better materials. We're building the backbone of the next energy revolution.
Following the success of our inaugural Futures Invitational, we're bringing the event back for a second year.
The Second Annual MetOx International Futures Invitational will bring a select group of exceptional students and recent graduates from across the country to our Houston headquarters for an immersive, two-day technical and recruiting experience.
January 26–27, 2027 | MetOx International Headquarters | Houston, Texas
This application-only, invitation-only event is designed for PhD and Master's candidates interested in launching their careers at MetOx International. Participants will be considered for full-time, Houston-based opportunities with our technical teams.
During this all-expenses-paid experience, you'll:
This is not a career fair. It's a selective technical recruiting experience designed to connect exceptional graduate talent with opportunities to build their careers at MetOx International.
You're a newly minted or soon-to-be PhD or Master's graduate looking to apply your technical expertise to complex, real-world challenges in advanced manufacturing.
Your background may include materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, plasma or thermal processes, thin-film deposition, equipment design, controls and automation, data science, or advanced manufacturing.
We are also particularly interested in candidates from adjacent technology fields, including the semiconductor industry, whose experience and technical foundation can translate to the challenges of scaling superconducting technology. Experience with MOCVD, PVD, CVD, ALD, or related deposition technologies is highly relevant, but it is not the only path to MetOx International.
Whether your expertise is in materials, process, equipment, controls, or data, you're excited by the opportunity to connect disciplines and help move breakthrough technology from the lab to scalable manufacturing.
Selected participants will interview for Houston-based, full-time opportunities in areas including:
If you're ready to apply your advanced degree to the future of superconductivity and advanced manufacturing, we invite you to apply for the Second Annual MetOx International Futures Invitational.
Click the apply button and complete your application. Please submit your resume and a brief statement (in place of a cover letter), 1 page or less, describing why you're interested in attending. We'd love to hear what excites you about MetOx International, how your research or academic background connects to the challenges we're solving, and how you hope to make an impact as part of our team.
Applications must be submitted by November 20, 2026.
Selected participants will receive an all-expenses-paid invitation to Houston for the January 26–27 event and will be considered for full-time opportunities based at MetOx International's Houston headquarters.
Bring your research, ideas, and technical curiosity to Houston and explore what your career could look like at MetOx International.

MetOx turns superconductivity into supply. Our Xeus™ high-temperature superconducting (HTS) wire is engineered for the next era of power—moving more current with zero resistance (at cryogenic temps) to unlock grid expansion, AI-scale data centers, fusion magnets, superconducting cables, and advanced medical systems.
From our Houston facility, the largest dedicated HTS wire plant in North America, we’re ramping toward 2,000 km of annual output and planning our second 5× capacity factory in North Carolina, slated to commence buildout in 2026.
We pair a proprietary manufacturing process with disciplined operations, robust quality systems, and supplier development to deliver reliable, repeatable, high-volume production. Backed by strategic energy partners and pilot deployments in transmission and fusion, MetOx is building the backbone for an electrified, AI-driven future.
Partner with us: On transmission pilots, data-center power architectures, and fusion magnet programs.
Careers: We’re regularly hiring in manufacturing, engineering, materials, and supply chain. We'd love to hear from you.
