MNO’s culture is at our core
The MNO workplace culture is full of potential ready to be unlocked. As our Self-Governance agreement materializes, we are building a workplace culture of action, responsibility, and most importantly a desire to serve the Métis community. When defining what MNO culture is, it’s difficult, because of our diverse leadership styles, and the different programs and services offered. What that really means is there is a place for almost everyone under the MNO employer umbrella. We recognize people are different, and that is our source of strength. We bring opinions together, welcome healthy conflict, and look to always find answers, not problems.

About the role
The Métis Family Well-Being (MFWB) Program is a community-led, prevention-based initiative designed to support Métis children, youth, and families affected by violence. Rooted in culturally grounded, strengths-based approaches, the program helps families heal, thrive, and stay together.
By developing and delivering culturally relevant policies, programs, and resources, MFWB empowers communities to address the root causes of violence and reduce involvement in the child welfare and youth justice systems. The program emphasizes the least disruptive means of family support, with the goal of preventing child apprehension and long-term systems involvement.
Grounded in a strengths-based, prevention-oriented approach, MFWB initiatives are developed and delivered at the local level. MFWB Coordinators organize individualized or group-based workshops, events, and activities that align with the client and/or program’s objectives. These initiatives emphasize culturally sensitive education, which is essential in shifting community attitudes and strengthening the Métis Nation’s capacity to understand, respond to, and prevent violence.
MFWB Coordinators also play a vital role in building and sustaining strong relationships with local partners and service providers. These collaborations:
• Enhance the quality and reach of service delivery.
• Promote Métis culture and identity.
• Support the holistic wellness of MNO Citizens.
Through ongoing engagement and collaboration, the MFWB program fosters inclusive and culturally relevant supports that reflect and honor the unique experiences of Métis families.
By providing culturally relevant, strengths-based support, the MFWB program helps Métis families stay together, supports healthier communities, and contributes to long-term violence prevention.
