New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is seeking a Temporary Meter Reader in our Ocean Division to read residential/industrial gas meters utilizing company-provided technology.
Position Requirements:
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must poses a High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be dependable and punctual
• Demonstrate ability to be accurate in work product
• Communication and teamwork skills
• Demonstrate customer focus skills
• Valid driver’s license, and demonstrated safe driving
• Demonstrated ability to work safely
• Self-starter, ability to work independently and deliver results
Preferred skills:
• Working outdoors in all elements of weather
• Ability to read maps and field routes, including navigation
Physical Work Activities Include:
• ability to bend, squat, crawl, and climb
• ability to lift heavy objects
• ability to use hands
• ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions
• ability to drive a company vehicle
• ability to walk up to twenty miles per day

This position is deemed safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s regulations. Among other things, employees in this position are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing and post-accident testing. PHMSA-required drug tests include testing for marijuana. The use of marijuana, or testing positive for marijuana, is disqualifying and will lead to removal from performing safety-sensitive functions as well as disciplinary action.
Other Details:
Compensation: The base pay for this role is $25.41/hour.
