Metals Inspector

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Performs assigned and routine visual inspections of scrap metal loads

• Tests and inspects materials based on established quality specifications

• Attends loadings of containers at supplier sites

• Notify operations and commercial supervisors of problems and assist in recommending remedial procedures to correct violations or issues encountered during inspection.

• Collaborate with commercial department concerning quality and consistency of suppliers

Qualifications & Competencies

• Experience in the scrap metal industry (ferrous and none-ferrous)

• Experience in commercial roles will be considered a plus

• Driving license

• Good communication skills

• Adaptive to change, and ability to work under pressure

• Strong decision-making ability

• Availability to travel in the UK for business purposes
