METALLURGICAL LAB SAMPLER – GEOMET

Reporting to the Geo Metallurgist, you will be responsible for conducting various metallurgical laboratory tests and assisting with process sample analyses as directed by the Metallurgist.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following

• Promote and Comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Policy

• Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks in the Mets Laboratory.

• This will include receiving of blast and drill holes samples and recording in a book provided, crushing and homogenizing of the samples prior to lab test work.

• Maintaining and understanding the importance of good housekeeping standards in the Met lab.

• Perform flotation test work, screen analysis, and other metallurgical tests on process samples.

• Collect Samples, crush, and homogenize ore and slurry samples for testing.

• Operate standard lab equipment such as the Lab Jaw Crusher, Rod & Ball Mill, Float Machines, Sieve Shaker.

• Compile and interpret test results to support metallurgical investigations.

• Sampling of Rom Pad stockpile and Expit samples.

• Maintain detailed records of samples and test results.

• Ensure laboratory equipment is well-maintained, and chemicals are adequately stocked.

• Adhere to strict safety procedures and protocols in the laboratory.

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the lab.

• Sampling and preparations of process control samples, composites samples and adhoc samples.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate

• Minimum experience of not less than 1 year in the mining industry

• Must understand sampling & sample handling techniques and preparation

• Good Knowledge of computers and must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office package which includes excel, power point and word

• Good communication skills
