Your mission

The MES Expert is responsible for the technical configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to support the VIVA2 project. This role ensures that all manufacturing documentation (MBRs, worksheets) is current and fully integrated into the MES. Additionally, the MES Expert defines the structural requirements for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions, guaranteeing seamless user adoption and operational readiness.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop, build, and maintain project-specific recipe structures utilizing Unit Procedures (UPs) and Operations (OPs) within the MES environment.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for all MES-related discrepancies, providing timely and effective resolutions to minimize production downtime.
• Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for production personnel, fostering a high level of system proficiency across the team.
• Oversee Change Control processes associated with the MES, including the meticulous execution and documentation of any required system revalidations.
• Monitor, govern, and maintain the MES user access structures to ensure security and compliance.
• Conduct rigorous reviews of electronic Batch Records (eBRs) and system recipes, particularly during initial production campaigns.
• Manage and maintain critical master data within the system, including Equipment, Materials, and Units of Measure (UOM).

Your profile

We are looking for someone with:

• Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a relevant apprenticeship, combined with hands-on experience in GMP environments and pharmaceutical/biotechnological production processes.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial automation systems, with mandatory and specific expertise in MES platforms and DeltaV.
• Proactively partner with the Automation Circle, CSV, GMP Compliance, and Production Teams to ensure seamless system integration and support ongoing manufacturing needs.
• Successfully implemented MES architecture and recipe configurations aligned with project milestones, and actively participate in the validation of systems and interfaces.
• Successfully established oneself as the definitive Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MES operations within the broader Production organization.
