Job Description

Primary Function:

The Merchant Services Officer (MSO) is responsible for developing and maintaining merchant services banking relationships throughout the Credit Union’s operating footprint. The MSO is also responsible for offering training and development for a defined branch network, as well as partnering with the Treasury Management Officers, Business Relationship Officers, Commercial Loan Officers, and Private Client Officersto strengthen member business relationships through a variety of credit card processing solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

·Primarily responsible for selling Idaho Central’s merchant payment processing vendor solutionsand the corresponding hardware and software.

·Acquires new merchant processing relationships within an assigned region to meet and exceed sales goals. This also includes establishing new business members and working with the Treasury Management Officers, Business Relationship Officers, Commercial Loan Officers, Private Client Officers, and branch employees in growing these relationships.

·Leads all aspects of the sales process, including identifying prospects, conducting statement/rate analysis, developing and presenting proposals, onboarding, and equipment installation and training of business members.

·Responsible for developing strategies for managing, maintaining, and retaining their growing merchant portfolio.Works with the Sales Manager and other support staff to assist as needed in this process.

·Develop relationships with the branch network, Business Relationship and Commercial Lending teams with marketing strategies to promote Idaho Central Merchant Processing products throughout the Credit Union’s operating footprint while providing ongoing training to these teams.

·Maintain and develop a strong network and pipeline.Expand and develop account relationships through business development and community involvement.

·Represent Idaho Central Credit Union, developing new leads and promoting a favorable image in all business activities in the community.

·Networking with outside referral sources and current member base for additional business opportunities.

·Cold calling and prospecting businesses for additional referrals and sales opportunities for the Credit Union

·Develops and promotes relationships with other departments and managers to ensure the members are properly handled according to the service standards created at the Credit Union.

·Perform merchant processing statement analysis and rate reviews.

·Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.Zero to three years merchant services or commercial banking experience, or equivalent work. The qualified candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of exceeding quota, strong business development, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and in an organized manner. Excellent communication and people skills.

Performance Standard:

Good interpersonal relations and a cooperative and positive attitude towards members and staff.Ability to determine member needs and cross sell Credit Union services.Professional in appearance, attendance, quality, and quantity of work performed.Ability to work under pressure and conflicting situations. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.

Physical Requirements:

·Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).

·Sit for extended periods of time.

·Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.

·Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.

·Reach keyboards.

·Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
