About the team

The Merchant Ecosystem Development team plays a critical role in building a scalable and sustainable seller ecosystem by improving merchant experience, enhancing operational efficiency, and enabling sellers to grow successfully on the platform.

We work closely with cross-functional teams to understand merchant needs, optimize operational processes, and develop solutions that support sellers at scale. Through data-driven insights, process improvements, and operational excellence, we help create a seamless experience for merchants while contributing to the overall growth of TikTok Shop.

In particular, the e-Commerce industry has seen tremendous growth in recent years and has become a hotly contested space amongst leading Internet companies, and its future growth cannot be underestimated. About the role

As a Merchant Ecosystem Development Operations Intern, you will play a hands-on role in analyzing data to drive operational improvements and contribute to our department's business plans. In this role, you will collaborate with the team to gather and interpret operational data, build standard operating procedures (SOPs), and support task setups for our sellers.

As a Project Intern, you will contribute to impactful short-term projects and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, professional environment. This internship offers the opportunity to develop practical skills, apply your knowledge to real-world challenges, and explore your career interests.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the team to gather, analyze, and interpret operational data to improve efficiency and achieve business goals.
• Generate regular operational reports to support the team.
• Support the setup and maintenance of system tasks, collaborating closely with the operations team to ensure smooth task execution and onboarding for sellers.
• Assist in designing, creating, and maintaining data visualizations and interactive dashboards.

Minimum Qualification(s)

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate in Business or a related Data Science, Statistics discipline.
• Core Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Naturally curious with a proactive approach to identifying data-driven solutions.
• Tools & Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Technical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of or experience with data analysis, Excel, or project management experience.
• Working Style: Good attitude with a curious mind, keen eye for detail and open to learning new skills

Preferred Qualification(s)

• Prior internship or project experience, or campaign management
• Comfortable with data tracking, spreadsheet coordination
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Operations, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Naturally curious with a proactive approach to identifying data-driven solutions.
