Merchandiser - Sourcing

(Based at Activewear - Nawala)

We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to facilitate the sourcing of Raw Material for allocated customer orders and ensure that the correct quantity of raw materials are in-house in a timely manner in order to facilitate the production process thereby, ensuring 100% completion of orders

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Negotiate delivery terms with the suppliers to ensure raw materials are only in-house when required to control raw material in-house dates

• Arrange inspection of fabric at the supplier’s premises to ensure all quality aspects are met

• Follow-up with suppliers until the materials are in-house whilst, liaising with the planning section to prioritize delivery dates where required

• Coordinate with the Commercial team in order to ensure all raw material required for the production process is forwarded to the relevant factories accurately and on time

• Liaise with relevant factory personnel/ suppliers on material received, and re-order material as and when required whilst, monitoring material consumption up to the order completion stage in order to ensure required quantity & quality of raw materials are available

• Ensure that relevant raw material is sourced for the production process by performing activities such as the following in a timely manner in order to facilitate accurate completion of customer orders

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Diploma / Degree in relevant field or CIM as an equivalent professional qualification
• 1-2 years’ experience in Merchandising or a similar role
• Knowledge on MS Office Packages
• Knowledge of Supply Chain
