A Day in the Life:
The merchandiser will assist in buying and assorting merchandise of categories of Shoes & Jewelry for Retail stores in Greater China, in accordance with corporate guidance and providing on-going feedback around merchandise needs on the assigned categories. He or she is required to assisting in the development of merchandise plans focused on sales, markdowns, inventory, and growth opportunity. Proactively collaborate with cross-functional partners including planning, allocation and visual merchandising to align product strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
BUYING
Assist in formulating the buying strategy and the buying process to make sure each buy is done properly (quantity and styles) by assorting the line, analyzing history, and identifying volume drivers to maximize sales for each season with guidance and collaboration with the Corporate Buying function
Prepare regular sales reports with updated information on routine basis (weekly/monthly/ seasonally) & detailed market feedback
Work closely with PR to incorporate Look Book selections in Buy
Work closely with VM for the Windows to maintain a global image
Support in preparing seasonal product training with brand presentation and material translation
Be responsible for the merchandise distribution, stock allocation and merchandise reordering management
Monitor closely the stock movement of individual shops, work closely with planning team to arrange inter-shop stocks transfers to maximize sales and optimize inventory
PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON LOCAL MARKETS NEEDS & MERCHANDISING STRATEGY
On-going communication with Merchandising Team in U.S. on local market needs and specific country requests, that include but not limited to special products, new stores opening and new initiatives of the region
In touch with local industry trends and competitor awareness in pricing, trend, quality and products offers
Responsible for the Seasonal Product training to the Retail team
Conduct product training when season kick off to retail staff to ensure they possess good knowledge
Provide the specific training (trendy Information, key item focus, regional delivery timetable) to retail staff and tracking their performance
Support and work with training team regarding to product knowledge and in-store activity to enhance training throughout the season
Translate the relevant materials on product knowledge
SALES DRIVER AND OWNERSHIP
Run varies sales reports and analyze data weekly to identify current sales trend, inventory situation, and opportunities, recommending action plan weekly on ground in order to drive sales:
Sales/EOH by season, concept, class, style, stores
Co-ordinate with Creative presentation team to maximize the sales opportunities
Recommend Markdowns/Promotions
Call out any Initial Product delivery issues and/or Propose Replenishment
Co-ordinate Bi- Weekly products transfer/consolidation
Proposing Incentive Plans
Event planning and coordination merchandising related
Support retail team on merchandising related such as defective products, system retail price error, store product request etc.
EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Degree holder in Fashion Merchandising/ Business or related disciplines
A minimum of 3 years fashion retail merchandising experience. Previous regional buying experience in luxury fashion industry
Strong planning, communication and presentation skills
Sound business acumen and retail numerical sense, detailed mind with strong analytical skills
Proficiency in MS Office Applications and advanced in Excel
Excellent command in English & Chinese
