Welcome Home!We’re more than Canada’s largest independent hardware and building supplies retailer—we’re part of communities across the nation. Driving Merchandising Impact As the Merchandise Planning and Programs Specialist, you will ensure the smooth execution of merchandising planning and programs and help to facilitate cross-functional coordination, operational efficiency, and timely delivery of key initiatives. Led by Manager, Category Management, Planning and Programs, this opportunity will best suit someone who has strong organizational skills and attention to detail.   Ready to make an impact? Here’s how: 
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the Home Hardware Seasonal Planning Calendar. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timelines, dependencies, and objectives are clearly articulated and adhered to. Help track deliverables and ensure timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Assist with Financial Planning & Forecasting to support the Merchandising Manager in developing the Annual Financial Plan. Aid in the quarterly re-forecasting process by collecting data, preparing reports, and maintaining a 12-month forecast view.
  • Support and help manage the Power Aisle Merchandising Program (PAMP) by assisting with and coordinating the item selection, merchandising plans, and strategy development. Support program integration with pricing functionality and assist in measuring program results.
  • Provide support for the Key Value Item (KVI) program by assisting with strategy development, item selection, and tracking. Ensure clear communication of program details to Dealers and help measure program success.
  • Assist in developing and managing the monthly Dealer ordering calendar. Collaborate with merchants to ensure that monthly deals are clearly communicated to Dealers and tracked for performance.
  • Assist in developing scorecards to measure the success of merchandising programs ensuring both timeliness and financial outcomes are consistently monitored.
  • Support the design of trade show booths through item selection, layout planning, and the development of strategic assortment documentation to effectively showcase merchandise programs.
  We’re looking for:
  • Diploma in Business Administration/Merchandising and 1-2 years of experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to effectively manage schedules, priorities and ensure deadlines are met efficiently.
  • Clear, concise communication for coordinating with various departments, both in writing and verbally.
  • Must be able to manage the finer details, particularly with reports and program coordination.
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office. Ability to create and manage documents, presentations, and data analysis, strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills are critical.
  • Ability to liaise with teams across functions, supporting cross-functional alignment.
  • An understanding of business processes, including planning, budgeting, and strategy development, to contribute meaningfully to strategic initiatives.  
  • The ability to be onsite three days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate our hybrid working model.

  • The expected starting salary range for this role is $57,600 - $75,600; the final offer will reflect relevant skills and experience.
