The Merchandise Allocator will support the Visual Merchandising (VM) team across several aspects of the business. The primary responsibilities will be ownership of placing & tracking orders for showroom resets, new openings, and trade show events. Additionally, the Merchandise Allocator will partner cross functionally to ensure 3rd party logistics (3PL), procurement, and operational needs are met for all VM activities.

How success is defined:
• Enter and manage all VM orders in company ERP systems (JDE/D365), ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Review and consolidate orders across brands into single showroom orders to optimize fulfillment.
• Maintain project timelines and order schedules to ensure on-time placement and delivery for resets and openings.
• Track shipments end-to-end, securing and distributing BOLs and packing lists to operations teams and 3PL partners.
• Coordinate with distribution centers (Houston, Skokie, Greer) to ensure timely picking, packing, and shipment departures.
• Reconcile packing lists, update inventory records, and communicate availability to support planogram execution.
• Partner with VM and RVM teams to manage planogram inputs, including new/carryover lists and resolving missing items or cancellations in ERP.
• Oversee procurement and delivery of key VM materials (fixtures, pedestals, graphics, lighting, signage) to meet project deadlines.
• Collaborate with 3PL and internal operations to ensure alignment on delivery schedules, project timelines, and execution readiness.
• Support cross-functional coordination (Facilities, VM, Operations) including returns (RGA), special projects (e.g., blue tag sales), and ad hoc requests.
What you will bring:
• High school diploma required. College graduate preferred (Supply Chain, Business, Merchandising, or related field).
• 1-3 years of experience in retail operations, merchandising, logistics, or order management.
• Experience working in ERP systems required, JDE and MS D365 preferred.
• Experience in assortment planning, merchandising, buying methodologies, lighting industry a plus.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Must demonstrate maturity in judgement, commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule as determined by manager.
• Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
• Demonstrate exceptional communication across all contact channels, including email, chat and phone.
• Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, late evenings.
• Highly analytical with strong problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
Compensation Range: $31.25 - $33.65
Compensation is based on individual factors, including skill set, relevant experience, and work location
