Mortenson is currently seeking an MEP Executive that will provide technical leadership, knowledge, and expertise throughout the entire process of the project. Starting from front-end theory and design to estimation, procurement and completion of construction of the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide oversight and leadership to Operating Groups MEP personnel for Business Development, Preconstruction Services, Operations, Procurement, and Construction
Guide technical assessment of operational modifications and enhancements, coordinating solutions for projects
Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels, leading by example, offering coaching and feedback, and managing performance
Provide technical MEP support for Business Development activities for new facilities
Maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies, review industry performance, analyze trends, and maintain industry contacts
Provide technical MEP support for projects, including scope and design development, cost estimates, schedule requirements, engineering services, contracts, and 3rd party reviews
Review project proposals with Project Managers, Design Phase Managers, or Project Executives to advise on schedules, limitations, procedures, and resource allocation
Assist preconstruction teams in reviewing bid packages, schedules, and engineering drawings for RFP compliance
Negotiate with contractors to resolve technical and commercial issues, providing project support during construction, start-up, and turnover phases
Ensure project MEP activities comply with company requirements, support construction budget and schedule, and prepare internal reports for senior and project management
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
Minimum 15 years of experience in MEP design or construction management
Current driver's license
Provide leadership by displaying resourcefulness, self-starting work habits, and creative problem-solving
Ability to work with minimal assistance and supervision
Effective communication across multiple organizational levels and with non-technical audiences
Traits consistent with Mortenson’s values: trust, teamwork, safety, service, stewardship, responsibility
Knowledge of contract fundamentals, construction law, and business practices
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, project, and web applications
Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills, active listening, and effective communication

The base pay range for this role is $168,100 MIN - $252,200 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
