The MEP Engineer is responsible for planning and design in the areas of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems including developing polices, standards, inspection procedures, and evaluation tools for MEP matters involving judicial branch facilities.
Design MEP systems for buildings, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, and plumbing systems, ensuring they meet project requirements, codes, and standards.
Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and specifications for MEP systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design requirements.
Coordinate MEP designs with other disciplines, such as architects and structural engineers, to ensure compatibility and integration with the overall building design.
Select appropriate equipment, components, and materials for MEP systems, considering factors such as efficiency, performance, cost, and sustainability.
Design MEP systems with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability, incorporating technologies such as energy-efficient lighting, HVAC controls, and renewable energy systems.
Provide technical support and oversight during the construction phase, reviewing shop drawings, conducting site inspections, and resolving MEP-related issues as they arise.
Manage testing, balancing, and commissioning of MEP systems to ensure they operate efficiently and meet performance requirements before occupancy.
Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards governing MEP systems, including fire safety, electrical safety, and plumbing codes.
Maintain accurate documentation of MEP designs, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence, ensuring a complete record of project activities and decisions.
Communicate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to understand their needs, provide technical expertise, and address any concerns or questions related to MEP systems.
Knowledge in MEP materials and site activities.
Coordination and administration of MEP related materials, systems and shop drawings submittals.
Knowledge of local authority regulations, applicable standards and local market.
Knowledge of assist in the testing and commissioning of MEP equipment
Expert in operating basic MS Office 2010 (MS Word, MS Excel)
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Minimum 5 year(s) working experience, 3 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
