Our award-winning client is seeking a MEP Engineer to join their team. Seeking an experienced MEP Engineer to oversee Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Low Voltage engineering activities, ensuring cost-effective technical solutions.
Relocation is available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical oversight and project management for designs by contracted consultants.
Jointly manage MEP/FP consultant contracts, including budget compliance and drawing production.
Ensure accuracy, compliance with schedules, and Best Engineering Practices.
Review drawings, specifications, RFPs, bid proposals, etc., and provide feedback.
Low Voltage Systems Integration: Manage the integration of all Low Voltage systems into the project design and construction process.
Schedule and conduct Low Voltage Coordination Meetings.
Lighting Designers Management: Direct lighting consultants in collaboration with the Design Manager and Project Manager.
Guide the development of interior and exterior lighting systems and controls.
Provide feedback on light output, energy efficiency, durability, ease of maintenance, and fixture cost.
Construction Administration: Support Project Manager and contract MEP/FP consultant through construction observation, submittal evaluation, and engineer interfacing.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Technical Support: Answer technical questions for Property Management, Tenant Coordination, Risk Management, and other departments.
Review drawings, specifications, RFPs, bid proposals, etc., and provide feedback.
Interface with Energy Services and Procurement: Regularly interface with Energy Services and Procurement to evaluate new products and provide technical input for national contracts.
Sustainability Initiatives: Provide technical feedback and recommendations to the Head of Sustainability for implementing sustainable initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or similar Engineering
Experience Retail, Mall, Commercial Construction, or similar
A PE (Professional Engineer) designation or similar is preferred but not required
Minimum 10 years of engineering experience, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, lighting systems, and energy management.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
A working knowledge and understanding of retail development and the design process, with additional knowledge of multi-family and hospitality design considered a plus.
Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal direction.
Highly developed organizational skills to ensure effective project coordination.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for clear and concise collaboration.
General knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and fire Protection (MEPFP) codes and design conventions.
