PROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL

EXTRACURRICULAR

JOB TITLE Internal Mentor Teacher (Magana)

EMPLOYMENT LOCATION Taylor County Middle School

SALARY: Stipend - $600.00

FUNDING SOURCE Teacher Leader Induction

EFFECTIVE DATE 2025-2026 School Year

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid WV certification required.

2. Completion of the new mentorship training or willingness to receive the training at the next scheduled session

3. Minimum of five (5) years teaching experience

4. Satisfactory past evaluations or recommendation of principal

5. Knowledge/ability as exhibited through school/classroom experiences in the following areas:

A. Understanding of Middle and High School Curriculum

B. Understanding of a variety of teaching strategies

C. Ability to communicate/listen and share with the beginning school teacher

D. Sensitivity to beginning teacher needs

E. Demonstrated skills in classroom management

F. Current with the latest research on teaching and learning

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

-Provide emotional and professional support to beginning school teacher per West Virginia State Board Policy 5900 and Taylor County Policy.

-Observe/evaluate teacher as needed

-Provide feedback monthly to candidate
