Positions needed for:

Chad Kellan - Talcott Elementary (Special Education)

Melinda Franklin - Talcott Elementary (Elementary Education)

Jessica Bishop - Summers County Comprehensive High School (English)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicant must hold a valid WV Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsement.
  • Complete the WVDE mentor training course or be willing to participate in mentor training. Note: Mentors working with Clinical Teachers of Record do not have to complete the WVDE mentor training, however it is preferred.
  • Have a least five years' experience with at least three years in Summers County Schools.
  • Priority will be given to teachers in schools where the new personnel is employed and/or to those teaching in the same subject area and/or grade level.

SALARY: $300.00

TERM: One semester (18 weeks)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  1. Model a variety of instructional strategies.
  2. Observe the mentee's classroom for a total of at least one hour per month.
  3. Conduct a weekly meeting to discuss progress and strategies.
  4. Emphasize job-related activities and performance.
  5. Identify a wide array of human, material, and fiscal resources for the intern.
  6. Assist the intern with identifying and planning long-term goals and objectives.
  7. Assist with self-evaluation of the intern's daily activities to achieve the objective.
  8. Provide the intern with an orientation to the school system and community.
