JOB TITLE Mentor, Assistant Principal (Kinney)

EMPLOYMENT LOCATION TCS/AJES

SALARY: Stipend - $600.00

FUNDING SOURCE Teacher Leader Induction

EFFECTIVE DATE 2026-2027 School Year

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid WV certification required.

2. Completion of the new mentorship training or willingness to receive the training at the next scheduled session

3. Minimum of five (5) years administrative experience

4. Satisfactory past evaluations or recommendation of principal

5. Knowledge/ability as exhibited through school/classroom experiences in the following areas:

1. Understanding of a variety of teaching strategies
2. Ability to communicate/listen and share with the beginning school administrator
3. Sensitivity to beginning administrator needs
4. Demonstrated skills in school management
5. Current with the latest research on administration and learning techniques

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

-Provide emotional and professional support to beginning school administrator per West Virginia State Board Policy 5900 and Taylor County Policy.

-Observe/evaluate administrator as needed

-Provide feedback monthly to candidate
