Job Description

Since 1905, The Bradley Center has continually served children and families in need. Today, the residential treatment facility provides 24 hour care and trauma-informed treatment to children who have a history of trauma and who may present with a wide range of challenges.

Therapists at Bradley receive training in evidence-based interventions, carry a small caseload, develop treatment plans with the clients and families, and participate in both team and individual supervision. This is an excellent opportunity for a new therapist to gain valuable experience and launch a career. We also offer the opportunity to receive the supervision necessary for licensure.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and family therapy
  • Provide treatment education and guidance including the development of individualized treatment plans
  • Adhere to treatment plan objectives
  • Attend monthly treatment planning meetings
  • Communicate with family and external partners
  • Documentation/behavioral data tracking

Qualifications best suited for the position:

  • Initiative
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Patience and creativity while working with residents at their own pace
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional demeanor, sound judgment, dependability, and a strong work ethic

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, art or music therapy or other related field required
  • Minimum of one year experience working with youth is a human services or psychiatric setting preferred
  • Valid driver's license and car insurance
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

About The Bradley Center

For over 100 years Bradley has been providing hope to children and families in need of comprehensive and caring services.

Bradley was founded by The United Methodist Women in 1905 as The Elizabeth A. Bradley Home for Children and operated for many years as an orphanage and as interim housing for children whose parents were separated or divorced. In 1972, it was incorporated as The Bradley Center to serve abused, neglected and dependent children.

In 1991, Bradley was reorganized by a new non-denominational, community-based Board of Trustees and executive management.

The Bradley Center has since evolved into an accredited, regional behavioral healthcare and child welfare system that provides hope to young girls and boys.

Bradley is committed to advocacy for children and dedicated to the restoration of productive relationships among children, their families and the community whenever possible.

The Bradley Center implements the Sanctuary Model of Trauma Informed Care developed by Dr. Sandra Bloom. Sanctuary is a treatment and organizational model that is based on understanding trauma. Every staff and resident in care focus on "SELF"​ - Safety (physical, psychological, social and moral), Emotion management, Loss (traumatic experiences and separation), and the Future (how can things get better?).

Bradley has earned the quality distinction of accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. It is also licensed by the Pennsylvania Departments of Education and Welfare.
