Mental Health Technician- Children's of Mississippi- Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit- 2 CircleThe Mental Health Technician is responsible for providing supervision and support to child, adolescent, or adult patients within a treatment or educational setting. This role ensures the maintenance of a safe and secure environment that enhances treatment and/or educational effectiveness. All responsibilities are carried out in alignment with the mission and values of the medical center.
Education and Experience Required:
Degree (Bachelor or Associate) in psychology or mental health or High School Diploma/GED and two (2) years of direct patient care experience in a mental health facility.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and is well-versed in handling patient care documentation, including charts and medical histories. Demonstrate proficiency in preparing and maintaining accurate patient records, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to interact professionally with mental health professionals, patients, and family members. Capable of providing compassionate and appropriate care to individuals with mental, emotional, and developmental disabilities.

Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, frequent exposure to bio-hazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, frequent work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality.
