This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center, 1050 Ribaut Road, Beaufort, SC 29902.

Under limited supervision of the Assistant Director, provides comprehensive mental health assessments and crisis management to Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center as the Access/Mobile Crisis Supervisor. Supervises Access/Mobile Crisis staff including supervision of dual employment staff in relation to Mobile Crisis scheduling, duties, and protocols. Serves as Liaison for CECMHC to law enforcement entities and probate courts within the catchment area.

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional II - Mobile Crisis Supervisor:

• Serve as the Access/MC Program Supervisor, overseeing clinical and administrative operations to ensure efficient, effective service delivery. Provide direct supervision to MC/Access and MC/DE staff, ensuring adherence to PCH, QA standards, and MC protocols. Manage recruiting, hiring, and retention for supervised roles and contributes to organizational performance improvement as part of the Executive Management Team. Represents CECMHC in BHDD Mobile Crisis Meetings.

• Oversee MC/Access coverage during work hours and after-hours, coordinating with the MC/Access Lead and MC-Dual Employment Scheduling. Ensure staff deliver appropriate services and document according to agency policies and QA standards. Manage timekeeping for DE in SCEIS.

• Serve as CECMHC point of contact for Mobile Crisis Program over entire coverage area. Ensure follow-up in relation to MC contacts and coordinates with clinic directors and assigned clinicians as needed. Act as liaison with Beaufort County Probate Court and law enforcement, ensuring communication with them on issues that arise. Participate in the development of community resources and relationships.

• Communicate regularly with representatives of public and private mental health, medical, and social services organizations and other partners (i.e., schools, law enforcement agencies) to assure the delivery of quality services to mutual patients. Participate in opportunities to meet with both professionals and members of the general public to share pertinent information about Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center and the services offered.

• Ensure continuity of care within clinical programs, between community partners, and with hospitals as specified in the OMH Continuity of Care Manual.

• Ensure implementation and compliance with BHDD policies by collaborating with the Center’s QA Coordinator. Maintain staff compliance with agency expectations and conducts routine supervisory record audits.

• Ensure adherence to Center, BHDD, and Corporate Compliance policies and regulations.

For MHP Student Loan Repayment:

This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.

Examples of duties

• A Master's degree in counseling or social science and state licensure or licensure eligible.
• Two (2) years of post-graduate experience in a clinical counseling program.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years experience or more in a clinical counseling program.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Supplemental information

Post hire, employees must:

• Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
• Be able to supervise a staff of mental health professionals.
• Have a thorough knowledge of treatment of the chronically mentally ill in a community setting is required.
• Have the ability to organize and direct a center-wide program of Mobile Crisis Mental Health Services.
• Have the ability to develop plans and procedures pertaining to the overall program development and operations.
