This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Waccamaw Center Mental Health, 164 Waccamaw Medical Park Drive, Conway, SC 29526.

This position MAY be eligible for OMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.

As the Mental Health Professional II, working under general supervision, will provide service as Access/Crisis Supervisor, providing program oversite and direct supervision to staff of the Access/Crisis Team in the Conway Office for the Waccamaw Center for Mental Health. You will also evaluate and monitor staff performance, staff productivity and quality of work to ensure policy and program standards are met and goals are achieved. Provide direct clinical and performance management of staff within the program. Completed clinical supervision with team members and ensure all staff members meet position requirements.

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Profession II:

  • Provide direct clinical supervision to staff in individual and group settings, including live observations, to enhance counseling skills and address adult, child, and family clinic concerns.
  • Deliver training to staff on both clinical and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Provide daily management and oversight of screening assessments and crisis intervention services within the Center.
  • Provide administrative supervision to staff, including completing Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) evaluations and all required paperwork within OMH standards to ensure performance management and compliance with Quality Assurance Standards.
  • Serve as a backup for Mobile Crisis in the absence of the Assistant Clinic Director, staffing crisis cases and providing clinician support as needed.
  • Coordinate schedules with the Clinic Director and Assistant Clinic Director, and assume all clinic duties and responsibilities in their absence.
  • Complete and submit clinical service notes within a 24-hour period, in accordance with Local Collaborative Documentation standards.
  • Provide therapy, emergency services, and case management to individuals experiencing emotional disturbances, including assessments, crisis intervention, individual/group/family therapy, patient/family education, and targeted case management.

Examples of duties

  • Master's degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences and two years' experience in clinical setting.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a clinical counseling program.
  • Must be able to meet OMH credentialling requirements.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to provide a 10-year driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds; ability to see, hear at normal volumes, stand, walk, reach, pull, stoop, bend, file, drive from location to location and climb at least two (2) flights of stairs.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
  • Licensure preferred - professional counselor or social worker through South Carolina Labor, Licensing and Regulation Board with valid licensure.

  • Must be able to show evidence of experience working in a mental with setting serving adults and their families.
