SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health -1Waccamaw Center for Mental Health, 164 Waccamaw Medical Park Dr, Conway, SC 29526.

Working under direct supervision as a Mental Health Professional I, you will serve as an Access and Crisis Team clinician for the Waccamaw Center for Mental Health Conway office. You will provide screening, assessments, crisis intervention, and community crisis intervention conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions. In addition to completing emergency and judicial paperwork for probate court alongside other approved client services.

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I:

  • Provide therapy, emergency services and case management services to persons experiencing emotional disturbances, to include assessments, crisis intervention, individual, group and family therapy, patient and family education and home visits as needed.
  • Complete and submit clinician service notes within 24-hour period in accordance with Local Collaborative Documentation Standards.
  • Demonstrate and maintain effective working relationships with families, and representative of other professional disciplines.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Maintain documentation of charts and other records in accordance with State, Federal, local, OMH.
  • Participate in maintaining and providing information about the services offered by the center; including criteria for admission and types of treatment programs available.

Examples of duties

  • A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to serve as team member in the Access/Crisis Team in Horry County.
  • Must be able to serve as backup for mobile crisis for business hours.
  • Must be able to provide a valid license in order to operate a state vehicle.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stand and sit.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
  • Must be able to meet OMH credentialling requirements.

  • Must have thorough knowledge of the range and scope of services provided in a comprehensive mental health program serving adults, children and families and the unique treatment needs of the special population.
  • Must have the ability to integrate and coordinate services with those of other disciplines and to communicate effectively.
  • Must have the ability to perform case management, interviewing and assessment skills.
  • Must have experience working with adults and children in a community mental health setting.
