This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Catawba Community Mental Health Center (CCMHC), 205 Piedmont Blvd, Suite 100, Rock Hill, SC 29732. This position provides school mental health counseling services as an embedded mental health professional in the Clover School District.

Under the supervision of the Child, Adolescent, and Family Supervisor or School Based Services Supervisor, employee will provide therapeutic and emergency services to targeted population of patients within the Catawba catchment area. Will also ensure frequent interaction with other community agencies and maintain positive professional relationships.

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I / School-Based / York County include:

• Provide clinical services, including but not limited to, assessment, individual, family and group therapy and crisis intervention services to a targeted population of Child and Adolescent clients and their families. Services may be provided in the clinic, in the client’s school home, or other community setting.
• Responsible for case management services for assigned caseload. These services include: referrals, advocacy, interagency staffings, and coordinating care between agencies/service providers as appropriate.
• Formulate recovery-based plans of care with person centered goals and objectives. Conduct timely reviews and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Attend and participate in Treatment Team meetings/staffings, including staffing with MD at CCMHC. Pursue continuing education and training. Maintain positive professional relationships with MHC staff, and community agencies, as well as, clients and their families. Work to overcome the stigma of mental illness and mental health services by providing education, training and support services to the community at large.

Examples of duties

• A Master's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences.
• Employee must qualify as a Mental Health Professional as defined by SCDBHDD/CCMHC QA Standards.

• Must be licensed or be eligible for full licensure within 3 years of hire.

Additional Requirements:

• In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must be able to provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate experience. Please be sure to provide specific clinical activities on your application and / or resume.
• Position is essential and may be called back for disasters/emergencies.
• Employee must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• This position requires travel between agencies.
• Must be able to life five (5) lbs.

Qualifications

• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Post hire, employees must:

• Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
• Be able to operate a state vehicle.
• Be able to work a flexible schedule and know this position in considered essential and may be called back during crises / disasters / emergencies.
