How you will make a difference (job overview):
This position has primary responsibility for mental health services and case management services to adolescents and their families. The Mental Health Specialist (MHS) provides mental health services (including assessment and evaluation) and other services to clients referred to the TEAMMATES programs. Provides therapeutic services including but not limited to individual and family therapy, collaterals, crises intervention skill building and treatment planning. The Mental Health Specialist is an active contributor in multidisciplinary teams and will assist various team members as needed to provide services to families or assist with case management or developing plans for the family. He/she acts as a liaison with external agencies and functions on teams with other clinical & non-clinical staff. The Mental Health Specialist will attend various client and family meetings such Child & Family Team (CFT) meetings, psychoeducation groups, plan development meetings, as well as various external and community meetings. May be requested to obtain additional training and certifications as needed.
