Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Mental Health Therapist will provide trauma-informed, culturally sensitive therapeutic counseling services to people across the lifespan, with a particular focus on people with Intellectual and/or Development Disorders and coexisting mental health conditions in children under the age of sixteen (16) years of age.   The goal of providing counseling services is to alleviate the presenting symptoms and to enhance healthy coping strategies that assist the individual and/or family to function at the highest potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide an initial psychosocial assessment for each client served in order to identify treatment needs, client strengths, and other relevant information required to provide comprehensive behavioral health services.
Complete an initial service plan upon client’s intake that identifies short-and long-term treatment goals and then update at a minimum quarterly to document treatment progress. Review with client and or guardian as developed and updated.
Explain treatment services to the client and/or guardian as appropriate including clients’ rights and responsibilities, confidentiality, fee agreement (if applicable), and consent for treatment upon referral to the program.
Provide individual, family and/or group therapeutic counseling services for clients, as appropriate.
Document therapeutic services, client/collateral contacts and other service delivery via electronic health record and according to organization standards.
Make referrals on behalf of the client for needed services, as appropriate, including psychiatric evaluation and treatment.
Prepare written reports as necessary and appropriate for court, school and other agencies.
Participate in client conferences, hearings and meetings as necessary.
Participate in clinical supervision to review cases and clinical issues that may impact the client/clinician.
Uphold HIPPA/Confidentiality standards and regulations for each client as dictated by the State of Maryland, as well as agency policies.
May require rotating on-call duties among other clinicians.
Work one evening a week seeing patients.
Other duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations:
Meet the productivity and key performance indicator (KPI) targets, established by the organization, designed to ensure high-quality, efficient, and client-centered care. Regular performance reviews and data tracking will support therapists in achieving these goals and maintaining alignment with organizational standards.
Complete documentation within 48 hours of visit.
General Duties:
Active participation in treatment team meetings to ensure clients receive appropriate and timely services.
Complete agency personnel and client paperwork as applicable.
Provide statistics for funders, when applicable. (e.g., service hours, client outcomes, demographics)
Participate in office staff meetings, as necessary.
Serve on committees within and outside the agency in a meaningful way and as appropriate.
Maintain awareness of community resources and contact with local stakeholder organizations as appropriate.
QualificationsQualifications:
Required:
Master's degree in social work
Maryland Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (or LCSW-C) or equivalent licensure (i.e., Licensed Certified Professional Counselor, LCPC)
Knowledge of human developmental stages
Knowledge of trauma theory and symptomology
Knowledge of and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
Basic computer skills
Preferred:
Experience working with children impacted by mental illness, trauma and/or substance use
Training and/or experience utilizing evidence-based practices relevant trauma-informed care
Knowledge and experience working with children who have Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities (IDD)
Other:
Maryland Licensed Master Social Work level (LMSW) or equivalent licensure (i.e., Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor, LGPC), will be considered if there is a Clinical Supervisor available on staff for direct supervision.

Pay Range: $85,000.00-$110,000.00
This position is based on site in Belcamp/Aberdeen Maryland (Monday through Friday). It is not a remote eligible position and relocation assistance will not be offered.
