Observes and assists assigned mental health patients and helps with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization
Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
Attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings
Performs and records information about patients including vital signs, weight, glucose monitoring, and demeanor
May communicate with the patient's family as needed
Education: High School Diploma req uired; Associate’s degree preferred
Experience: At least 1-3 years’ of relevant experience
Good oral and written communication skills; ability to follow up on information with staff members
Ability to organize workday and environment to get the job done
Excellent public contact skills - courteous, tactful, friendly, and the ability to work well with others
Ability to handle multiple requests and work in a stressful environment
