As an Ambassador, you will serve as the initial point of contact for our clients within a trauma-informed care framework. Your role involves building genuine relationships and guiding individuals, utilizing trauma-sensitive approaches to assist them in accessing services aimed at resolving their homelessness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Trauma-Informed Engagement: Utilize trauma-informed practices to establish safe and trusting relationships, recognizing and respecting the individual’s unique experiences
- Teaches life skills classes and leads recreational opportunities
- Leads weekly devotionals
Guiding Through Empathy: Performs information sessions and demonstrates empathy and understanding, guiding guests towards services and resources in a manner that acknowledges and respects their past trauma
- Administers needs assessment for guests using client management system
- Meets guests' needs by providing hygiene and clothing items, marta cards, etc.
Creating Safe Spaces:
- Foster a safe and supportive environment, promoting a sense of safety and trust for individuals who have experienced trauma
Advocacy with Sensitivity:
- Advocate for clients’ needs in a manner that is sensitive to their past experiences, ensuring a trauma-informed approach in all interactions
Collaborative Approach: Work collaboratively within a trauma-informed care team, emphasizing mutual respect and understanding for each other and the clients
- Schedules client appointments and referrals for assessments with Social Worker
- Tracks client information in client management system

Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in human services, nonprofit, ministry, or residential environments, preferably working with individuals impacted by trauma, homelessness, or behavioral health challenges
- Demonstrated understanding and application of trauma-informed care principles
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, demonstrate empathy, maintain professional boundaries, and advocate for clients with dignity and respect
- Experience leading group activities such as life skills classes, recreational programming, or devotionals in a Christ-centered environment
- Ability to assess needs, document accurately in a client management system, schedule appointments/referrals, and track follow-up actions
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to steward resources responsibly (hygiene items, clothing, transportation support, etc.)
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team while contributing to a safe, structured residential environment
- Alignment with and commitment to the mission, vision, and statement of faith of Atlanta Mission
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, walking or sitting)
- Must have the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to ascend/descend stairs
- Must be able to distinguish, determine and detest taste or smell
- Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, calculator and computer printer
- Must be able to communicate accurate information
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 20lbs
Special Job Requirements:
- Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record
