Quakertown, PA | Full Time, Hourly | Weekday Evenings and Weekends | $18.50 per hour

What is needed for this job as our Membership Specialist:

  • 18+ years of age
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability to display empathy and nurture Health Seekers
  • Strong communication, member service and problem solving skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • A self-starter who is detail oriented, able to multitask and work well in a team setting
  • Positive, professional attitude and appearance
  • Experience in cash handling skills and the ability to reconcile shift transactions
  • Trained in Listen First or will attend training within 3 months of position
  • SEFA Trained (Safe Environment for All) prior to first shift
  • A willingness and desire to live out the mission of the Y
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and database systems

The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Membership Specialist:

  • Perform and provide direct member service while demonstrating excellent member engagement skills
  • Consistently greet every person (by name, if known) and acknowledge all members and guests as they enter the Y
  • Answer phones, direct and transfer calls, and provide accurate information about membership and programs
  • Utilize Listen First as a tool to support members, co-workers and program participants
  • Uphold our “here for you” brand through delivering high quality member service. Pay close attention to details; constantly fulfill the needs of our members and greater branch
  • Follow Lead with Heart practices by opening our senses to the member experience, walking the facility to ensure safety, engagement and mission advancement expectations are being met and that we are truly member focused
  • Exhibit core skills of engaging health seekers by; initiating conversation, greeting with a smile and offering assistance to members and guests
  • Control access to the facility. Check in members entering the building by scanning membership cards and obtaining proper identification of guests
  • Support members in the implementation of member retention initiatives
  • Complete accident/incident reports as needed; submits to supervisor
  • Address all member concerns immediately, elevating any critical concerns to the appropriate leader
  • Respond to questions and comments in a professional manner
  • Assess effectiveness of existing practices and procedures; partner with the county membership team to implement changes that will allow for exceptional member service
  • Support membership in the implementation and communication of Member Retention, Member Appreciation, and Wellness Initiatives
  • Provides supervisor with feedback on the effectiveness of existing practices and procedures; offering suggestions to improve as needed
