Job Description

The Membership Representative plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest service while supporting a variety of functions within the Membership department. This position involves rotating responsibilities, including cashiering, processing membership sales, and accurate data entry. The representative is responsible for ensuring the secure handling of all payment types and associated materials, with a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and maintaining the integrity of financial transactions and database records.
This position is required to work many weekends and holidays throughout the year.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
▪ Communicates effectively with members and guests via phone, email, and in person to provide accurate information about Zoo memberships, programing, visitation, and available products.
▪ Delivers exceptional customer service in alignment with departmental standards and the Zoo’s organizational values.
▪ Participates in data management and record-keeping via Galaxy and Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM Plus.
▪ Promotes and sells memberships as part of a rotating schedule across various departmental locations, including the Membership Services Window.
▪ Processes member and guest payments accurately and in accordance with Zoo financial policies and procedures.
▪ Identifies, researches, and resolves member and guest issues using available resources and established protocols.
▪ Operates computer systems and office equipment professionally to ensure accurate documentation and transaction processing.
▪ Identifies, documents, and communicates recurring trends in guest interactions to support continuous improvement in member and guest services.
▪ Processes registrations and reservations for on-site activities such as School Field Trips, Kids’ Birthday Parties, and other programs.
▪ Maintains current knowledge of Zoo programs, services, and products by attending daily start-up meetings and reviewing internal communications.
▪ Supports the Zoo’s wildlife conservation mission by participating in Saving Wildlife Opportunities, minimizing resource use, and encouraging sustainable practices among guests and staff.
▪ Demonstrates flexibility by working weekends, holidays, evenings, special events and overtime as required.
▪ Works outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to heat, wind, cold, and rain while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
▪ Contributes to saving animals in the wild through: reduction of waste, water and energy use and inspiring guests and staff to take wildlife protection actions.
▪ Contributes to other operational priorities as needed.

Education and Experience
▪ High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
▪ Two (2) years’ relevant work experience in high volume customer service operations
▪ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
▪ Excellent organizational, interpersonal, customer service, writing, oral communication skills, and database and program skills.
▪ Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
▪ Initiative and follow-through as well as the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
