Salary Range: $17.00Member Engagement & Service
- Greet members and guests with warmth and enthusiasm, fostering a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the Alliance’s values that builds positive relationships to support member retention and community building
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and resolving issues promptly and professionally including knowledge of the group exercise schedules as well as other related community events as applicable.
- Check in members to classes and programs as needed
- Monitor member behavior to ensure adherence to facility policies and safety guidelines and report any concerns to the Manager of Membership Operations, Chief Experience Officer or Senior Director of Human Resources (if applicable).
- Respond to member feedback and communicate concerns to supervisors in a timely manner
- Maintain a positive, enthusiastic, and helpful attitude always
Administrative Duties
- Complete daily logs, checklists, and reports as required
- Assists with monitoring and tracking equipment maintenance needs.
- Assist with basic data entry and member account management when needed
Building Rounds & Facility Monitoring
- Be aware of facility needs, including fitness centers, studios, locker rooms, hallways, and common spaces and document in Trello for maintenance follow up. i.e. during rounds is aware and checking for proper lighting, temperature control, and overall facility conditions; Ensure all emergency exits are clear and accessible
- Assist in monitoring building systems and report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions immediately via Teams and Trello.
- Document observations to supervisor as needed
- Ensure manager is aware and coordinate with maintenance staff on repair needs.
Gym Equipment Maintenance (as time and coverage allows)
- Clean and sanitize all fitness equipment throughout shifts, including cardio machines, weight equipment, and accessories
- Wipe down machines, benches, and other equipment using appropriate cleaning products
- Monitor equipment functionality and report any broken or damaged items to supervisors
- Stock and maintain adequate supplies of cleaning products (communicate with housekeeping team where appropriate), towels, etc. throughout the fitness center
Facility Maintenance Support
- In partnership with the housekeeping team, ensure locker room cleanliness and organization, ensure adequate supplies of toiletries and towels and communicate to others when necessary
- Clean high-touch surfaces around membership desks
Safety & Emergency Response
- Maintain constant awareness of member safety and building conditions
- Respond immediately and appropriately to emergency situations following established protocols
- Complete required safety training including CPR/AED and First Aid certification
- Enforce all safety policies and procedures consistently and professionally
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to supervisors, Director of Community Safety or their team, Human Resources, and/or the Chief Experience Officer promptly.
Program & Building Support
- Help communicate program schedules and information to members
- Support membership recruitment and retention initiatives
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required
- Maintain knowledge of the Alliance programs, services, and facilities to provide accurate information to members
- Assists in the training of new hires in support of Manager of Membership Operations modeling behavior and supporting systems to help them be successful
-  Support member engagement events and programs and assist other departments as needed, in collaboration with operations leadership

QualificationsEducation & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree in Recreation, Fitness, Hospitality, or related field preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably in fitness, hospitality, or recreation setting
- Experience working in a fitness facility or community center is a plus

- Familiarity with CRM system operations a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on feet for extended periods
- Capability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions
Certifications (Required or to be obtained within specified timeframe)
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- First Aid certification preferred
- Any additional certifications as required by state or local regulations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (entire shift)
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and lifting
- Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity for cleaning equipment and performing facility tasks
- Tolerance for exposure to cleaning products and chemicals
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (fitness center is kept cooler for member comfort)

- Fast-paced fitness and recreation environment
- Exposure to noise from equipment, music, and group activities
- Regular interaction with members of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- May include early morning, evening, and weekend hours based on facility schedul
