About the Company

Our client is a 25-person, Series A company building an AI platform for commercial insurance brokerages. Its products automate proposals, policy checks and coverage comparisons, giving account managers more time for customers. The company has grown from zero to eight figures in revenue in 18 months and serves approximately 30% of the top 100 US brokerages.

About the Role

Join as a Member of Technical Staff (Product Engineer), working across the full stack with a backend focus. Own new products from concept to MVP and scale established products as the engineering team grows. This full-time position is onsite five days a week in San Francisco's SOMA office. Relocation support is not provided.

What You Will Do

• Scale products with product-market fit from thousands of users toward hundreds of thousands.
• Explore insurance workflows, build experiments and ship MVPs quickly to customers.
• Build backend-focused full-stack features that process long PDFs and Excel files and automate workflows in legacy browser-based systems.
• Help combine individual products into a self-service platform.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and customers to connect technical decisions with user needs.

Requirements

What We Are Looking For

• At least four years of full-stack or backend software engineering experience, with opportunities from mid-career through senior, staff and principal level.
• End-to-end product ownership, customer-facing MVP delivery and a record of stable tenure and career progression.
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines, deploying production applications and integrating third-party services such as Stripe.
• Strong technical judgment, curiosity, initiative and effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work onsite five days a week in San Francisco.
• Startup or founding engineering experience, SaaS quoting applications using React and Flask, and willingness to attend company off-sites are pluses.

Benefits

Compensation and Benefits

$170,000-$320,000 USD base salary. No equity is listed for this role. Health, dental and vision insurance, team off-sites, team dinners and a stocked office. Visa transfers such as OPT and H1B transfers are supported. No relocation support.
